Dr. V.- Executive Director

Dr. Verna’s passion for child development emerged early. She discovered a talent for engaging and teaching children while “sitting” for younger children in her Central American home village. Years later, she took her 1st job in early childhood education walking distance from new ACP Los Angeles location. Propelled by an unwavering work ethic and integrity, Mrs. Verna ascended through every role within the childcare center, quickly rising to her first directorship. She oversaw the care and readiness of 250 children and led a team of 18 employees, achieving remarkable results as 70% of the children in her care qualified for college admission. Striving for even greater outcomes, she dedicated herself to a decade of self-improvement and skill enhancement, balancing ownership demands with night classes. This led to degrees from UCLA and USC. In her recent doctoral studies, Mrs. Verna acquired expertise in designing organizations that blend community-building with commercial sustainability. Drawing on her multifaceted background as a teacher, entrepreneur, and community-builder, Mrs. Verna is now eager to apply her experiences to the neighborhood that holds a special place in her heart.
